After solving the overflow issue by adding a second downspout, we made sure the water had somewhere smart to go.
This property had a history of basement flooding — including a full flooring tear-out in the basement apartment last year. While the new downspout handled roof capacity, simply draining it near the foundation would’ve created a new problem.
So we buried the line, ran it across the entire building, and connected it directly into the same drainage tile as the original downspout.
Now both lines flow underground and away from the house — protecting the basement, the foundation, and the long-term integrity of the system.
